Believe it or not, the song “Jump” by 80’s megastars Van Halen was the only one of their tunes to reach the number one spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.  When you think of the incredible amount of hit rock songs released by this talented quartet, it’s almost inconceivable that only one of their babies went on to that number one spot in the United States.

Jump was the second song released on their hit album “1984”, which was released (you guessed it) in 1984, including other 80′s hits, which gathered much commercial success.  It can be easily tagged as one of their most recognizable songs, containing synthy pop song aspects, as well as the pop-metal arena flavor of its time.  Some feel that this song helped to transition Van Halen from a more hard rock oriented band to a more mainstream and pop-rock group.
