I dropped my subscription to the satellite radio and have decided to listen to free podcasts and streams over the Net for awhile. Once I figured out how to get the stuff to play over my home theater system using the Tivo box it was kind of a no-brainer. I’m amazed at the variety of shows available.

I just set up playlists in iTunes, and they show up in the music section of my DVR menu – works like a charm. Even figured out how to put the online radio stations in a playlist.

Maggie is a little miffed because she liked a couple of the political talk channels on the satellite, but she didn’t pay for the subscription and she really didn’t even listen that often. I’m trying to set up Air America to stream to placate her though.
