Just a few short years ago, it was nearly impossible to rent a hybrid. Now, you can rent one from either one of the major rental car companies. The drawback is that each one of the rental companies are fighting for the same limited number of vehicles to provide their customers. Basically, the rental company will buy only what it can afford. The demand is great, but the supply is low. However, this is not deterring the rental companies or the car manufacturers. As more consumers begin to request these vehicles, more will become available. Or, everyone will remain on the waiting list for a long time.
