While there are many things you should consider before buying furnishings for your office, the durability of the piece and the overall value should be most important.  Since desks and chairs are used frequently in any office, they should be able to hold up to a lot of daily abuse.  When I was shopping for office furniture, I really wanted to find items that would last for at least five years or more.  This is one of the reasons I chose very heavy duty desks that would stand the test of time.  They are a great value, one of the least expensive, but they are certainly built for daily office use.
