When a friend sold his business he wasn’t sure whether to buy another business or invest the proceeds in an assortment of investment activities. I suggested that he look into 401K investing. There may be tax benefits associated with doing so and by being aware of this he could make a more informed decision. A few weeks later I bumped into him and he thanked me for the advice. It turned out that he was able to get some good recommendations and the end result was that he was able to make a more informed decision that will serve him well into the future.
