Many women are enjoying incredible success in the business world.  I watched for years as other women opened small businesses and grew them to be strong stable businesses that they were incredibly proud of.  I watched for years, always working for these brave women and wishing I was one of them.  I spoke to my family for years about how I really wished I could be a business owner.  My daughter called me on it one day and asked me just what was stopping me if I wanted it so much.  I started in with several reasons why I couldn’t start a business, the biggest one being the lack of funding.  That is when she suggested I apply for one of the many women business grants.  That was five years ago.  It was not long after her suggestion that I applied for a grant and was awarded the start up funding for my little coffee shop that I absolutely love.
