Medical Savings Account Is a Must for Healthcare Reform
Many people might argue that the only sensible way to reform healthcare is to give a big piece of the responsibility back to individuals and away from corporate titans or government bureaucrats. With the introduction of the medical savings account and healthcare spending account in recent years, the United States certainly has tried to do just that when it introduced the “consumer-driven insurance programs” such as flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs), and health savings accounts (HSAs). While none has become the salvation for the US healthcare woes, much has been learned while dealing with each type of program and it won’t be surprising if there is a realignment of these programs as a result of major healthcare reform.
