When my husband proposed, he didn’t present me with a ring he had picked out and surprised me with.  The ring I put on was one I had designed myself, after months of consultation with my mother and grandmother and a fine jeweler, who guided me through the process.  I believe engagement rings should be as unique as the people wearing them.  Over the years I’ve admired my friends rings but, as beautiful as they were, I knew the classic look wasn’t for me.  It’s been ten years since I got married and I still have the most unique ring of anyone I know.
