We Were Below Poverty Level
When I was a child, our family was classified as below poverty level. We had ten kids, my mother didn’t work, and my father was a salesman. Needless to say, we didn’t have much. Our clothes were handed down until we couldn’t wear them anymore, our shoes and socks had holes in them, and we had to share beds. I never had the experience of sleeping on luxurious, elegant and beautiful bedding. So when I got married, that was the first thing I wanted. I couldn’t believe what a difference it made! For someone who was used to the blanket scratching her skin, it was heaven.
