Our Hurricane Advisory Was Mobile

When I lived in Western Australia we averaged two hurricanes a year usually about a month apart.   It was almost routine in the way we prepared for them but it never felt routine at the time.  Radios were few and far between and Televisions at that time were non-existent in the outback so we were all hungry for storm related information.  The Shire police would drive through the town with a loud speaker giving us our Hurricane Advisory and letting us know to take shelter.  When in the eye of the hurricane they would drive around telling us how much longer we could expect before the storm hit again.
