Google has thrown it’s not inconsiderable weight behind Sony’s digital e-book reader in what is the latest development of what just might turn out to be an e-book war in the near future. The move will give Sony more than 600,000 titles to offer its readers. The main competition – the amazon kindle has around 270,000 titles available at this time – although these are being added to on a daily basis. The latest version of the kindle, the kindle DX, has the facility to read pdf files – but earlier versions required a translation before pdfs could be read.
